a. Describe the structure and powers of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches.
b. Analyze the relationship between the three branches in a system of checks and balances and separation of powers.
Students working in groups of 3-4 will create a newspaper in which they will discuss the three branches of government: legislative, executive and judicial. Each branch will need to have it's own headline. The article below it will describe in detail the structure and powers of each branch of government, as well as analyze the relationship between them paying particular attention to the checks and balances and separation of powers. Students can use the rubric below to make sure that all requirements have been met.
